#KenyaDecides: Presidential aspirant to head to court to be included in fresh vote
One Kenyan presidential candidate in the August 8 election has announced that he will go to court to challenge the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) decision to allow only President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to contest the fresh election to be held on October 17.
Through his twitter handle, Ekuru Aukot, one of the candidates that garnered low numbers in the initial elections, said the decision to lock out the other candidates was illegal.

The Supreme Court on Friday annulled the presidential election result, saying that IEBC overlooked the constitution, committed various illegalities affecting integrity of polls.
On August 11, IEBC declared President Uhuru Kenyatta winner of the presidential vote with 54.27 percent of the votes cast against opposition leader Raila Odinga’s 44.74 percent.
In the Friday ruling read by six judges, four were in favour of an annulment while two upheld the result.
Following that ruling, the president said he accepted the court’s ruling, though he added that he disagreed with it.
“I disagree with the ruling because millions of Kenyans queued, made their choices, and six people have decided that they will go against the will of the people,” he said.
