Kenya wildlife flee fighting to seek sanctuary in Somalia

Kenyan military has launched an offensive to flush al shaabab militants from a forest along its border with Somalia is displacing wildlife.

Al shaabab militants are believed to have set up hide-outs in Boni forest, where they would elope into after carrying out attacks in the coastal region.

Elephants, lions, giraffe and ostriches are reportedly fleeing from the forest due to the human intrusion, seeking sanctuary in neighbouring Somalia. Officials there say the wildlife want a more peaceful environment.
