Kenya records 616 cases of COVID-19
Kenya on Saturday confirmed 616 new cases of COVID-19 from 5,512 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed positive infections to 44,196.
So far Kenya has tested 617,064 samples since March.
The health ministry said from the 616 cases, 594 are Kenyans and 22 are foreigners.
The cases are made up of 391 males and 225 females; the youngest is an eight-month-old infant while the oldest is 86 years.
The Ministry of Health also announced 104 patients recovered from the virus with 83 on the home-based care program while 21 were discharged from various hospitals bringing the total number of recoveries to 31,752.
The death toll from the virus has also risen to 825 after 12 more patients succumbed to the virus.
