Kenya has been recording a notably low number of new coronavirus infections as it works to maintain a positivity rate of at most five percent, which is required for the declaration of a flattening curve.
And on Monday recorded one of the lowest figures in recent months after the Health ministry confirmed 48 new cases of Covid-19.
This raised the country’s total to 36,205 from a sample of 1,081 tested in the last 24 hours.
Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said age-wise, the youngest was a 12 -year-old infant while the oldest was 75 years old.
A total of 45 of those discharged were from the home-based program, while 131 were discharged from various health facilities.
The number of fatalities rose to 624 after two more patients succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
