Kenya records 271 new COVID-19 cases
Kenya on Thursday confirmed 271 new cases of COVID-19 from 5,034 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed positive infections to 40,178.
So far Kenya has tested 574,712 samples since March.
The health ministry said from the 271 cases, 242 are Kenyans and 29 are foreigners.
The 271 cases are made up of 177 males and 94 females; the youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 83 years.
The Ministry of Health also announced 51 new recoveries saying 22 were patients under the home-based care system while 29 were discharged from various hospitals across the country.
The total number of recoveries so far is 31,710.
The death toll from the virus has also risen to 751 after three more patients succumbed to the virus.
