How Africa Will be Affected by Climate Change

Read < 1 minute

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has released its latest report. The report warns of economic growth and crop yields being stunted worldwide as temperatures go up and Low-lying developing countries and small island states being hit even harder as sea levels rise. The report also says much of the world remains unprepared for the mounting threats of a changing climate and is calling for global action. Africa is one of the continents that is going to be severely affected by the climate change from crops failure, diseases and extreme weather. This latest climate change report is aimed at helping governments prepare a workable deal to cut rising greenhouse gas emissions and recommends a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energies which some describe as an insurance policy for the planet.
