Gunfire erupts again in South Sudan’s Capital
Gunfire has erupted again in South Sudan’s capital Juba on Sunday near the UN base and Eye Radio Juba reports both affected entities.
At least 115 people died after heavy gunfire erupted at the presidential palace in Juba on Friday evening.
A Reuters witness said shooting could be heard in Gudele and and Jebel suburbs of Juba, near the military barracks that hosts troops loyal to the country’s vice president Riek Machar.
South Sudan President Kiir and Vice President Dr Riek called for calm and restraint at a joint press briefing during the sporadic gunfights on Friday.
