Guinea Mudslides: Death toll rises to 10, victims laid to rest

Victims of the deadly mudslide on the outskirts of the Guinean capital, Conakry, have been laid to rest. Officials have raised the death toll from the rubbish dump landslide to 10.

Shifting rainfall patterns, deforestation and expanding urban populations are increasing the risk of mudslides across western and central Africa. Last week, mudslides in Sierra Leone and the DRC killed hundreds of people. Guinean authorities have warned that heavy rain could trigger more landslides.
