France pledges to help Chad fight terrorism

France’s Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has been in talks with Chad’s President Idriss Deby.

The two leaders met in the Chadian capital N’Djamena on Thursday. They have discussed bilateral cooperation on militant activities in the Sahel region.

France has been offering support to fight terrorism in Central Africa. Its Barkhane operation is currently ongoing in the Sahel.
