Floods kill dozens in Angola
Sixty two people are reported to have died in violent torrential floods in the Angolan city of Lobito.
Thirty five of those dead are children.
President Jose Eduardo Santos has ordered local authorities to provide assistance, as many homes have been destroyed and several citizens are still unaccounted for.
Dozens of homes and city structures have been destroyed by the floods. Angolan law enforcement and rescue teams are attempting to get into the areas that were hardest hit to search for those who are still unaccounted for.
Angola is regularly hit hard by flooding with tens of thousand affected annually.
State media has reported that in the capital city, Luanda, at least one person also died this week, and hundreds left homeless after 137 houses were destroyed by the downpours.
