Ethiopia reports three new COVID-19 cases and two recoveries

Ethiopia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 194 after three more people were confirmed positive from a total of 1,861 medical tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) said in a statement on Friday.

According to figures from FMoH, all three new COVID-19 cases are Ethiopian nationals, all females aged between 23 and 33 years old.

The Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health also said that two more people have recovered bring the total of recoveries to 95.

Ethiopia, Africa’s second-most populous nation with about 107 million people, confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13.

The Ethiopian government has instituted a wide range of measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.

In April, the Ethiopian House of People’s Representatives, the lower house of the Ethiopian parliament, announced a five-month state of emergency to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country
