Erotic performance or a serious sport?: Pole dance competition held in Beijing
Pole dancers from across the globe gathered in Beijing at the weekend to compete in the World Pole Dancing Championships. The event’s Organizers hope the competition will help promote pole dancing as a serious sport across the globe.
The competition lasted a staggering 10 hours with 25-year-old Russian pole dancer, Galina Musina, crowned the winner of the women’s singles.
About 50 pole dancers, women and men, participated in this year’s competition- Musina hopes the sport will be taken more seriously in the years to come.
Pole dancers have launched several petitions calling for it to be added to the next Olympic Games, but so far with no success.
