Dozens killed in multiple blasts blamed on Boko haram militants

Multiple bomb blast there have left over 40 people dead.  In Nigeria several blasts at two bus stations in the northern Nigerian city of Gombe killed atleast 29 people with the death toll expected to rise.

In Neighboring Cameroon two suicide bomb attacks on Wednesday killed at least 13 people.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the attacks bore the hallmarks of militant group Boko haram

The attacks in Nigeria took place in Gombe, located in the northeastern part of the country

According to witnesses the first bomb, was detonated by a suspected suicide bomber at a mosque at Dadin Kowa motorpark as people gathered to pray.

A shopkeeper in the area said the second one went off at Nasarawo junction near the same bus station, where people were selling vegetables

An official with Redcross told reuters that At least 29 people had been killed

Just a week ago at least 49 people were killed in blasts at a market in Gombe

Earlier in the day, suicide bombers killed at least 17 people in neighbouring Cameroon.

The first explosion hit a market and the second a densely populated neighbourhood, both in the capital of Cameroon’s Far North region, Maroua

No one claimed responsibility, but Boko Haram has stepped up attacks on the countries bordering its northeast Nigerian stronghold – Chad, Niger as well as Cameroon.

A statement from the office of President Paul Biya said 13 people were killed in the attack.

Cameroon state television quoted the region’s governor saying 17 people died.

The blasts came 10 days after two suicide attacks killed 13 people in Fotokol, about 300 km north of Maroua.
