There are rising concerns that the 3-month deadline given to the Nigerian military by President Muhammadu Buhari to end the activities of insurgents in the country may not be feasible after all.

Technically, 3 months have already elapsed since the Nigerian president issued the deadline. The military has however been confident that their victory would be by the end of the year.

Throughout his presidential campaign and upon assuming office, President Muhammadu Buhari put ending Boko Haram insurgency top on his agenda.

Firing the former military chiefs and Relocating the military command centre to the North east- the region worst hit by insurgents had signaled the end of Bokoharam.

But despite loosing their major strongholds, the insurgents have been launching bold attacks and their incessant suicide attacks have killed hundreds.

Attacks that recently lifted the profile of the ISIS affiliate to the most deadly terrorists organization in the world.
