Coach killed by fan for not scoring enough goals
A supporter punched to death a winning team’s coach in a football match in Epworth, settlement in south-eastern Harare, Zimbabwe reports The Herald.
The fan, Maxwell Munemo was upset that the team should have scored more goals. The 29 year old was supporting Epworth city which won three to nil against Zaoga Epworth.
The accused was freed on a bail of 100 dollars after appearing before a Harare magistrate for the charges of murder. His bail conditions included reporting to the Epworth Police Station every Friday, not to move from the residence address he gave and not to tamper with State witnesses.
During the soccer game on the 12th of June Munemo allegedly accused the football team of not passing ball effectively which hindered the team from scoring more goals, during the scuffle the accused punched coach Clever Muzadzi to the throat knocking him unconscious. The coach later passed on at hospital.
