We have been looking at the lives of some Chinese people living and working in various African countries in our ‘Making it in Africa’ series.

Today, lets introduce you to Shen Yuning, a scholar who’s helped to compile a Swahili-Mandarin dictionary.

He is now helping a group of scholars to try save a remote tribal language in Tanzania. Only 5,000 people speak Kisegeju, but Shen hopes to change that. Dan Ashby joined him on his fieldwork in northern Tanzania.
