Car makers show off latest wares at Los Angeles Auto Show
The rise in environmental consciousness and regulations is pushing automakers to come up with greener vehicles. At this year’s Los Angeles Auto show one of the biggest trends is green car technology.
Honda unveiled its Hydrogen fuel cell car which runs on hydrogen, takes oxygen from the air and through a chemical process makes electricity to power the car. A majority of car companies at the show feature a green vehicle of some sort which, like this BMW i8, break the stereotype that environmentally friendly cars are boring.
But being green isn’t the only game in town at the auto show. The Crossover market, a combination of a passenger car and an SUV, is zooming forward so many auto companies are trying to meet that growing demand.
Another theme of the auto show is the continuing push into the critically important Chinese market. Buick, a brand of General Motors, is one of the most popular foreign cars in China. Not only did the last emperor of China own a Buickecords show the first premier, Zhou Enlai also owned one.
The Los Angeles Auto Show usually marks the official start of the 2015-2016 North American auto season; and car companies are keen to show off their latest and greatest models, and their future ideas for transportation as well. There’s something for just about everyone. From the practical driver who wants reliability to the girl who just wants to have fun, to speedsters who want a little la dolce vita.
