Canadian court rules extradition case against senior Huawei executive can proceed
A Canadian court has just released a decision on the hearing of the Meng Wanzhou case.
The judge has ruled the U.S. extradition case against senior Chinese Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou can advance.
Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said the United States and Canada abused their bilateral extradition treaty and arbitrarily took compulsory measures against a Chinese citizen without cause, adding that the Chinese government is steadfast in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens.
The Huawei senior executive’s detention is seen by China as a serious political incident.
