Burkina Faso reports nearly 200 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Burkina Faso’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases increased to 1,707 as 193 new contaminations were reported on Sunday night, according to an official release here in the capital Ouagadougou.

Most of the newly confirmed cases have been registered in Bobo-Dioulasso, the second main city and economic capital of the west-African country.

Meanwhile, the country said eight patients have recovered from the pandemic, taking the total of recoveries to 1,135.

So far, Burkina Faso has 516 patients under treatment and a death toll at 56, since it announced its first positive COVID-19 case on March 9
