
Aubameyang stars as Arsenal thrashes Tottenham to storm into top four
The 29-year-old netted a brace and created another as Arsenal increased their unbeaten run in all competitions to 19.
Aubameyang’s goals pushed him to the top of the scoring chart on 10 points, two ahead of Manchester City duo Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.
The Gunners now trail leaders Manchester City by eight points, and will be hoping to carry on their fine form into the hectic December schedule.
Aubameyang gave Arsenal the lead in the 10th minute from the penalty spot after Jan Vertonghen was judged to have handled the ball deliberately in the 18-yard box.
Spurs hit back with a quick-fire double in the 30th and 34th minute through Eric Dier and Harry Kane, with the game going into the break with Arsenal behind.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery rang the changes at half time, bringing on Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette in place of Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The fresh legs gave Arsenal an immediate impact as the Gunners spressed Spurs harder.
The push was rewarded in the 56th minute as Aubameyang got his second. He then sloted a through pass onto the path of Lucal Torreira to slam home a fourth after Alexandre Lacazettehad netted a third.
Arsenal’s win means they are now just a point behind third-placed Chelsea.
The Gunners next game is an away game to Manchester United on Wednesday.
