Mohamed Ould Bilal nominated as new Mauritanian PM after Sidiya resigns

Mauritanian president Mohamed Ould Ghazouani has nominated by presidential decree Mohamed Ould Bilal as new Prime minister to replace Ismail Ould Cheikh Sidiya who resigned earlier.

Ismail Ould Cheikh Sidiya presented his resignation earlier on Thursday to the president.

“I had the honor of being received in audience by His Excellency the President of the Republic to whom I handed over the resignation of the government,” Sidiya said after meeting the president.

“It was an occasion where I thanked him for the trust he placed in me during this period,” he added.
