Zambia’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Dora Siliya on Saturday announced that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a video shared on social media, the information minister, who has been at the forefront of communicating to the public on the pandemic as a government spokesperson, said she has tested positive after going for a test.

She tested positive despite taking all precautions such as masking, washing hands and keeping social distancing.

She said she is asymptomatic and does not feel ill or has any symptoms, but has gone into self-isolation.

Zambia has 920 confirmed cases and seven deaths as of Saturday.
