Rwanda confirms 8th case of COVID-19

Rwanda confirmed its 8th case of COVID-19 late Tuesday night. The country’s health ministry said a 35-year-old man from Burundi presented symptoms and was detected at the Kigali airport after arriving from Dubai via Bujumbura. He was later tested positive for the novel virus.
Health officials say all 8 patients in the country are currently receiving treatment and remain in stable condition. Contacts are being traced in order to detect any additional suspected cases, the ministry said.

The country detected its first case on Saturday, promptly leading the government to close schools and places of worship for a period of two weeks. Officials now say those closures could be “renewed and expanded.”
