A charter jet crashed in the South African capital, Pretoria, on Tuesday, leaving about 20 people injured, emergency medical sources said.

The crash happened in Pretoria’s the ER24 emergency response provider said.

“Initial reports show that approximately 20 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical,” the company said in an online statement.

ER24 posted pictures of the wreckage on social media, with emergency responders seen at work around the site.

Details about what led to the crash had not emerged by the time of this article’s publication.

Local authorities have also confirmed the crash, though details remain scanty even for them.

“I can only confirm that yes we do have a plane that crashed on the Moloto Road,” AFP quotes local government emergency services spokesman Johan Pieterse.
