The BRICS Seminar on Governance took place in the South African city of Johannesburg on Wednesday, with more than 100 officials – mainly former dignitaries from BRICS members and think tanks – in attendance.

The one day meeting was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the South African National School of Government.

The meeting was aimed at promoting the institutionalisation of BRICS experiences in governance, and expand exchange and cooperation. It’s part of the second Golden Decade of BRICS cooperation.

Delegates discussed specific measures to implement the BRICS Leaders’ Xiamen Declaration.

The Wednesday forum came ahead of the 10th BRICS Summit scheduled to take place later this month, also in Johannesburg.
