Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is in Britain for an official visit, during which he will hold talks with Prime Minister Theresa May.
The 75-year-old’s London trip comes just a day after he announced that he would seek re-election in the 2019 elections.

Buhari will also meet the Archbishop of Canterbury and participate in a meeting of the Commonwealth heads of government.
According to the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari will also meet Shell’s CEO for discussions on the company’s plans to invest in the country.
“The President will also meet the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Plc, Mr. Ben van Beurden in connection with Shell and other partners’ plan to invest $15b in Nigeria’s oil industry,” Shehu said.
“These investment ventures will lay the foundation for the next 20 years production and domestic gas supply, bringing with it all the attendant benefits both to the economy and the wider society.”
He also added that Buhari will meet prominent British and Nigerians residing in the U.K.
This is the Nigerian president’s first visit to London this year. Last year, he spent two lengthy periods there – more than 100 days cumulatively – seeking medical treatment for an undisclosed illness.
