Nigeria’s army said it rescued 605 women and children from Sambisa forest

Nigeria’s Army on Wednesday said it had rescued 605 women and children during its operation in Sambisa forest, Premium Times reports.

At a press conference in Maiduguri, the Theatre Commander, Leo Irabor, stated this.  He further said that troops have continued to record remarkable progress in the fight against counter terrorism operation in Sambisa forest.

Irabor said  that “69 male adults, 180 females, 227 male children and 129 female children, were rescued during the operation between December 7 and December 14, this according to Premium Times

He said that the victims are in custody for further investigation and interrogation, stating that the troops are determined to wipe out terrorists from hideout. He promised that the counter terrorism operation is already yielding positive results.
