Entrepreneurs in Somalia collaborate with UN to boost business prospects

Read < 1 minute

Relative peace in parts of Somalia has led to the mushrooming of businesses in the seaside capital, Mogadishu.

Some of the entrepreneurs who’ve set up those businesses have now been trained in how local companies can benefit from doing business with the United Nations.

Somalia’s Commerce & Industry Minister, Abdirashid Mohamed Ahmed, thanked the UN for their continued support to local enterprises.

The World Bank and IMF estimates Somalia’s GDP at about $ 6 billion in 2015 which is about six times the pre-war period average of $1 billion.
