Kenya ratifies new anti-doping law
Kenya’s parliament on Thursday unanimously approved changes made to the anti-doping legislation in a bid to end cheating in athletics.
The East African nation’s parliament was in recess but was recalled for a special session to ratify the changes in a bid to get compliance consent from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
WADA’s compliance committee had earlier this month said the athletic giant was not compliant with global anti-doping rules, raising fears that the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) would disqualify the country’s athletes from participating in the Rio Olympics set for August.
