Top United National Security Council members visit Kenya, Somalia and Egypt

United Nations Security Council members have left New York for a four day visit to Kenya, Somalia and Egypt.
They are due to hold talks in Nairobi with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Topping the agenda is likely to be the imminent closure of Dadaab Refugee Camp – an announcement that has angered the UN and International community.
Talks will also focus on al-Shabaab’s presence in Kenya.
In Somalia, al-Shabaab will be on the agenda, as will the upcoming elections. The Security Council delegates are expected to tell Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud that they want elections to take place in August as scheduled.
In Egypt, council members will be meeting with the Arab League to discuss Somalia, Libya and mass migration from parts of North Africa and the Middle East.
