Chinese firm building new manufacturing plant in Durban

Chinese cable manufacturing giant, Yangtze Optics has invested a million dollars in South Africa.

The company is building a new manufacturing plant at the Dube Tradeport, a special economic zone in the coastal city of Durban.

The new investment comes as a much needed boost to the South African manufacturing industry.

More importantly, the new facility, once complete, will have the capacity to help South Africa achieve its ambitious broadband targets.
