Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visits Tunisia

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has arrived in Tunisia for an official visit. On Friday he met with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi and Prime Minister Habib Essid in Tunis.

President Essebsi said he believes Wang’s trip will further promote bilateral ties between the two sides, and called for more Chinese enterprises to invest into the country’s infrastructure sector. Prime Minister Essid added that both sides should enhance cooperation in trade, investment, tourism and infrastructure development.

Wang Yi said both countries should further explore new fields for cooperation. He said the Chinese government is willing to encourage more Chinese investment into the country. He hopes that the Tunisian government can provide a better investment environment for Chinese companies.
