Richest man in Africa, Nigerian business tycoon Aliko Dangote has made a donation of 10 million dollars to the persons displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno state.

Mr. Dangote made a commitment to end malnutrition, hunger and starvation in the refugee camps and other parts of the country.

“This is not the first time I am coming here and it will not be the last. So far, we have expended about N1.2 billion in efforts to alleviate the suffering of IDPs across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States.” Said Mr.Dangote during the visit

Dangote has previously donated 6 million dollars to assist in the humanitarian aid to those afflicted by terrorism in north east Nigeria. The billionaire estimated to be worth 17 billion dollars announced the donation while visiting the camps in Borno state.

“The first major challenge is the physiological needs of these people, and food, nutrition rank right on top of that ladder. So we will first make serious effort to ensure that hunger is eliminated from the IDP camps and thereafter, we will begin to make effort to create jobs and boost entrepreneurship.” Said Dangote

Mr. Dangote pledged to feed the IDPs throughout the month of fasting for all Muslims, Ramadan.

According to The Guardian the Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima wept as he thanked Mr. Dangote for his generosity.

Today (yesterday) is not a day of long speeches; but I pray that Almighty God will continue to bless you. Thank you,” said Shettima.
