Captain America in Lagos? Nigerian tweeter users hilariously tell us what that would mean
The much hyped new Captain America film has already made an eye-watering $181.8m in the North American box office, just over the past weekend.
It is however making even bigger headlines across the Atlantic in Africa, because of a scene set in a market in the Nigerian city of Lagos.
Even though the scene in question was actually filmed on set in Atlanta in the United States, it has inspired Twitter users from the West African nation to come up with a hashtag, the #CaptainAmericaInNigeria.
Nigerians have been tweeting theories of what would transpire if the American superhero were Nigerian instead.
While most have taken this opportunity to highlight some of the problems facing their country, others have simply been riding on the hashtag to express hilarious jokes.
