Senegal tightens security following ‘credible’ terror threats
Senegal has continued to tighten security in Saly Beach Resort, in the wake of the recent terror attacks in West African countries.
The country has stepped up securities measures to fend off a possible onslaught on civilians. With massive tourist arrivals in the beaches across West Africa, Saly and other major resorts remain potential targets of terror attacks, from militant groups.
In the past month, security has been water tight with vehicles going in and out of the town being checked twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The temporary deployment of armed police officers has helped with conducting the vigorous checks.
