African Union Peace and Security council meet over Burundi crisis

The African Union’s peace and security council has been meeting over the crisis there.The meeting in Addis Ababa this afternoon was reviewing latest reports on the situation following concerns that the escalating violence could plunge the country to further chaos.The EU, UN including the five permanent members of the security council all presented their views.Earlier PSC Commissioner Smail Chergui called for the EAC mediated talks be held  outside Burundi.The AU And EU have previously suggested the talks mediated by Uganda be moved to Addis or Kampala.Presenting their report , EAC representatives said they would support the PSC’S decision.
