3 Moroccan Terror Suspects Arrested in Spain
Three Moroccans have reportedly been arrested in Madrid, Spain on suspicion of belonging to a group linked to Islamic State extremists.
Spain’s interior ministry has been reported to have issued a statement saying that the three were willing to carry out suicide attacks similar to others that have happened elsewhere in Europe, though it did not provide the specifics.
The statement did not give any names or gender but said that all of them, arrested early on Tuesday, held Spanish residencies.
Spanish police have arrested around 50 suspects thought to be jihadi militants and recruiters so far this year.
The ministry has also said that 131 people have left Spain to join the Islamic State group in recent years.
