A South African parole board approved the athlete’s release from prison into house arrest for the rest of his sentence.

Pistorius was given a five-year jail sentence in October last year after being found guilty of culpable murder of his then girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

In his defence, Pistorius stated that he mistook her for an intruder.

After the decision by the parole board, he was released on 20 October, to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest.
