Young Egyptians have put up 180 candidates to run for the parliament elections set to be held this weekend. The youth formed ‘A Nation’s Future Party’ to allow them to contest for parliamentary seats so that the youth can make real change.

“We are all volunteers; each one of us likes to participate in their own careers. I felt it’s a new initiative that the youth would have their role and change something for real in society; we wanted change after the revolution. So I wanted to be part of this idea.” Said Hend Adham, Social Media Executive, A Nation’s Future Party

The party does not have much of a policy and seeking 3 million dollars to fund their campaign. However with only a week to the elections, this is proving to be very hard.

The political party, Mohammed Badran, represented Egypt youth in the constitutional committee that created the constitution of 2014 and was selected to attend President Abdul Fattah El Sisi’s inauguration in the yacht on the Suez Canal. The 24 year old is believed to have the president’s backing.
