Ramadan: Charity tables set out for the poor in Cairo to break the fast

The holy month of Ramadan is expected to take on board even vulnerable members of Islamic societies. In Egypt, those who cannot afford to break the fast every day are helped out by charity tables, set up across cities like Cairo.

However, the number of charity tables has been dwindling, an apparent knock-on effect from the steep rise in food prices.
