Footage has captured the heart wrenching moment a child is torn from her grandmother’s grip and blown away by a large gust of wind.

The child had been seated on a bouncy house when gale force winds lifted both her and the house several meters into the air.

In the video, the distressed woman can be seen desperately trying to keep her grip on the house, as the child scrabbles towards her.

The child was sent to the hospital, but did not survive.
