Zimbabwe’s President back in the country after medical check-up trip in Singapore

Zimbabwe’s state radio reports that the country’s President Robert Mugabe on Saturday arrived back after a week-long trip to Singapore for a medical check-up.

The president and his wife Grace were were met at the Harare International Airport by the country’s two vice presidents and several cabinet ministers, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation said.

The trip fueled speculation about the nonagenarian’s health and fitness to undertake another grueling campaign for re-election in 2018.

Zanu-PF, the ruling party had to cancel a rally that Mugabe had been expected to address on Friday, west of the country in Lupane.
