Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 cases climb to 149
Zimbabwe reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday to bring the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 149, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said on Friday.
The capital, Harare, leads with 64 cases, followed by Masvingo Province with 25, Matabeleland South with 16 and Bulawayo with 15, the ministry said in a statement.
The new cases are Zimbabwean nationals returning from Mozambique, South Africa and Britain who are in quarantine centers, the statement said.
The country’s COVID-19 deaths remain at four; 28 have recovered from the disease.
So far, 40,847 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Zimbabwe.
