Zimbabwe sealed qualification for the semifinals of the 2019 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Women’s Championship after a 7-0 drubbing of eSwatini at the Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakele in their final Group C game on Monday.

Zimbabwe will face hosts and Group A winners South Africa in the semifinals on Thursday.

Five-time winners South Africa beat Madagascar 3-0 in Port Elizabeth on Monday to make it 3 wins out of 3 matches.

In the other semifinal, Zambia, winners of Group B, will face the best runner-up from the group stage, either Malawi or Botswana.

Zambia plays Botswana later on Tuesday at the Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakele in the final group game.

Malawi, who finished behind South Africa, boosted their chances of qualifying for the semifinal with a 13-0 win against the Comoros in Port Elizabeth on Monday.

Malawi and Botswana both have six points but Malawi boasts a superior goal difference of +13 compared to Botswana’s +4.

The final is set to take place on August 11 at the Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakele, while the bronze medal match will be played a day earlier at the same venue.
