Zambia’s power giant forcibly moves traders away from high-voltage pylons

Read < 1 minute

In Zambia, the Electricity Supply Corporation and state police have forced out traders operating under electrical pylons.

It is part of efforts to avert a possible catastrophe. ZESCO says traders had been advised to leave the premises late last year but had yet to do so.

ZESCO says that if there are faults in the conductor network, many traders’ lives would be in danger.
