Zambian President visits the tomb of Jesus while on his visit to Israel

President Edgar Lungu says Zambia draws her inspiration from Israel. The Head of State is currently on a 5-day visit in Israel on the invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“My faith and the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation held new appeal as I knelt and prayed at the Tomb where Jesus Christ was buried in Jerusalem. As I offered my prayers, I rededicated my life to follow my Saviour and recommitted my family into God’s hands. I also thanked God Almighty for having brought me to the Office of President at such a time as this. I humbled myself and asked for more wisdom as I lead the great nation of Zambia.” Said President Lungu on a post on his Facebook page
Lungu describes the invitation to Israel as historic has since met Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President of Israel Reuven Rivlin.
“Earlier today, I held a meeting with The Israeli President, H.E Reuven Rivlin at the Presidential Residence in Jerusalem .I should admit that our country has drawn inspiration from Israel hence Zambia is looking forward to working with Israel in many spheres for the mutual benefit of both countries. This visit will result in enhancing our international relations as well as strengthening our economy through mutual trade,” said President Edgar Lungu.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his Country will soon send Israeli experts to Zambia in the fields of energy and water to see areas of collaboration. Further adding that, Israel is focusing on Africa for partnerships in many areas such as water, Energy, technology and agriculture.
Zambia’s and Israel leaders revisited their rich history and way forward to work together in various sectors for the mutual benefit.
Lungu also toured the ODIS Filtering of Israel Company that manufactures, installs and commissions treatment plants that purifies ground water, surface water and waste water into quality consumable water. The President pledged that his government will use the new technology to build and maintain our water systems and ensure that every citizen has access to clean and safe drinking water.
