The government of Zambia is planning to establish a film and television training and broadcasting production center, reports ZNBC.

The film and television training and content production center in the capital Lusaka will seek to inspire growth in the film industry in the country according to the government announcement.

The film sector players should ensure that the industry grows in order to create decent jobs and contribute to the country’s Gross Domestic Product according to Zambia’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kampamba Mulenga.

Ms Mulenga further added that the Ministry has released a policy to guide the growth of the industry and promote creative arts among the young people.

The Zambian government is exploiting the potential of the Zambian film industry so as to effectively contribute to national development according to the Minister.

The institution will improve skills to equip the locals to penetrate the local and international film industry.

Zambia’s government will decentralize broadcasting by creating state of art television studios in eight provinces according to the Minister of Information and broadcast.
