Yaya Toure leaves Olimpiakos just three months after re-joining the club
Former Cote d’Ivoire international Yaya Toure on Tuesday let Greek club Olympiakos just three months after re-joining the club.
Toure joined Olympiakos for a second spell after leaving Manchester City where he spent eight years.
“Olympiacos FC and Yaya Touré would like to announce to the fans that they have mutually agreed to end their cooperation,” the Greek club said in a statement.
“Yaya is and remains an important member of the Olympiacos family, who has marked a central part of the history of the club. Olympiacos would like to thank him for everything he has offered to the Club.”
The 35-year-old joined Olympiakos on a free, and had only made five appearances for the side before the termination of his contract.
While the Ivorian has not revealed his next move, he may still be involved in football somewhere else.
Last year, he said he still wanted to play professional football for another five years.
In his stellar career, Toure won two La Liga titles, three Premier League titles, One Champions League title, and one AFCON title among many other trophies.
