Xi Jinping in Egypt: 2016 marks 60 years of diplomatic ties

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi earlier held an official welcoming ceremony for President Xi in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. After the welcome ceremony, the two leaders  held a meeting, exchanging  views regarding bilateral relations and global issues. The two also held a meeting on Wednesday evening,  Xi voiced China’s support to Egypt’s greater role in regional and international affairs.  Sisi told Xi that Egypt admires China’s development achievements, and is eager to learn from China’s experiences in many aspects. He also says Egypt supports the Belt and Road initiative. Egypt is President Xi Jinping’s second visit after Saudi Arabia, and he will  go to Iran afterwards.
