Wydad Athletic edge Sundowns in CAF Champions League semifinal first leg

Badie Aouk scored what proved to be the winning goal two minutes into the second half as he tapped in a rebound after Dennis Onyango saved from Ismail El Haddad.
Wydad dominated possession and could have scored more goals to give them a cushion heading into the second leg but Sundowns goalkeeper Dennis Onynago made a number of good saves.
Mamelodi Sundowns host Wydad in the return leg on May 4 in Pretoria. The South Africans will hope for a repeat of the performance that saw them put five goals past eight-times African champions Al Ahly in the quarterfinals.
